ECI- (Electronic Commerce Indicator) Data passed to identify Internet transactions.
EDC- (Electronic Draft Capture) A system in which each transaction is routed to the host computer for processing and storage. The storage transactions are used to create settlement files and transaction reports.
Encryption- The process of encoding the pin pad with the processors configuration and key injection for the purpose of accepting debit cards.
EPROM- (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) A hard coded chip that has the ability to burn a program into it. Once the program is burned in, no alterations or changes can be made only the ability to read what is installed in the program.
